Hart Bell is a thriving, full-service law firm which has provided legal services to Indiana and Illinois for over 130 years. Our offices are located at 513 Main Street, Vincennes, Indiana and 13 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana.

Our attorneys are smart, have integrity, and, just as importantly, care about you. Our offices will provide you prompt, responsive, and quality legal advice and services. We understand that every person's situation is unique and deserves an attorney committed to working with you on a personal level, whether it is a challenging time in your life or an exciting time of new opportunities for you.

Our former partners include two Justices on the Indiana Supreme Court, a President of the Indiana State Bar Association, a President of the State Board of Law Examiners, a member of Congress, and a Mayor of Vincennes. Today, we continue to meet the high standards set by our predecessors by providing high quality representation to our clients and service to our community. Administrative Staff

Tyra Cleveland
A 1984 graduate of Indiana University School of Business, Tyra Cleveland serves as the firm’s bookkeeper and receptionist.

Tyra resides in Vincennes with her husband, Rick. They have three children and five grandchildren. She is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she has served on the finance commission for several years. She also is a member of Psi Iota Xi, 100 Women Who Care and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoys gardening, traveling, attending/watching any sporting event, cooking and working jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
Susan J. Davis
Susan graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1967 and went on to Vincennes University for one year of secretarial courses.

In August of 1968, she started working for the law firm of Fitzpatrick, Chambers, & Waller and worked there until 2018 when the last partner, Harry Hanson, retired. During those 50 years, she worked for several attorneys in the firm: Lloyd Fitzpatrick, Robert Chambers, Blake Chambers, Philip Waller, David Waller, Robert Leonard, Rita Baldwin, and Harry Hanson. After Harry retired, she began working for Hart Bell LLC after they took over Harry's practice.

She is married to Jim Davis who is retired from the City of Washington Electric Department. She has one son, Travis, who currently lives in Orlando, Florida and works for Charles Schwab.
LaTisha Johnson
LaTisha lives in Knox County and is married to a wonderful redneck. She has been with Hart Bell for 11 years.

She has three daughters: one is high maintenance and cannot wait to get her married off, one is a college student who often tricks me into buying groceries by conveniently leaving her wallet at home, and the third daughter is quiet as a mouse and causes no problems. She has three cats that she so loving calls Murder Mittens, Dr Teeth, and Asshole. They are adorable when they are asleep but are hellions while they are awake. It’s like raising triplet toddlers.

Her favorite things include concerts, 4 wheeling, jeeping, Kiss and beer; not necessarily in that order. She believes in God, her county, love and shoot first ask later. She is also currently taking applications for new fans. Follow her on Instagram #lkjohnson72.
Karen R. Mattingly
Karen worked as an abstractor for Hastings & Allen Land Title Agency from 1986 to 2005. She went on to work as an abstractor for El Paso Oil Company from 2005 to 2008. Karen purchased Hastings & Allen Land Title in 2008 and sold to Hart Bell Attorneys in 2018.

Karen graduated from Washington High School and Vincennes University. She moved to Newburgh, Indiana in 2019.

Karen married Steve W. Mattingly and has two daughters, Lindsey Nicole Mattingly, age 33, and Holly Leigh Mattingly, age 29. She is grandmother, aka "KoKo", to Hendrix Wayde. Karen is mother to four crazy pups: Gino the golden retriever, and Oscar, Brody, and Charlotte the weiner pups.

Legal Assistants

Angie Goff
Angie Goff joined Hart Bell in January of 2016. She is the legal assistance to firm partners, Katie Kotter and Graham Dycus.

Angie lives in Bicknell, with her husband Terry. She has one adult daughter, Bailey. The Goff’s are “empty nesters” and enjoy camping, traveling and spending time with family.  
Danell Yochum
Danell Yochum joined the firm in 2004 and has been Brent Stuckey’s assistant for the past 12 years.

She lives in Bruceville with her husband Ed. They have four children and two grandchildren.
